Job DetailsJob Location: Creative Achievement Academy - Vineland, NJ 08361Position Type: Full TimeEducation Level: 4 Year DegreeSalary Range: $55,000.00 - $72,000.00 Salary/yearTravel Percentage: NegligibleJob Shift: Day Plan and deliver standards-aligned music lesson plans (general music, choir, band, orchestra, or a combination) that develop listening, performance, composition, and music literacy skills. Differentiate instruction for diverse learners, including English learners and students with IEPs/504 plans; provide accommodations and enrichment as needed. Direct ensembles, organize rehearsals, and lead performances, concerts, and community events. Teach fundamentals of music theory, history, ear training, sight-reading, and technology (notation software, DAWs, recording). Assess student progress with formative and summative measures; maintain accurate grades, portfolios, and performance records. Manage classroom and rehearsal spaces to ensure a positive, safe, and productive learning environment. Care for, inventory, and coordinate maintenance of instruments, sheet music, equipment, and facilities. Communicate regularly with students, families, and colleagues; provide feedback, progress updates, and performance information. Collaborate with arts staff, classroom teachers, and administrators on curriculum, schedules, and cross-curricular projects. Coordinate logistics for performances: programs, venues, accompanists, transportation, permissions, and fundraising as applicable. Participate in professional development and stay current with best practices and repertoire. Uphold school policies and contribute to a positive school culture. Attends and participates in mandatory company trainings Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Music Education or related field; state teaching certification/licensure (or eligibility) preferred/required. Proficiency on a primary instrument/voice and functional piano skills. Demonstrated experience teaching general music and/or directing ensembles. Knowledge of music pedagogy, assessment, and rehearsal techniques across grade levels. Familiarity with notation software (e.g., Sibelius, Finale, MuseScore) and basic audio/recording tools (e.g., GarageBand, Soundtrap, Logic). Strong classroom management, communication, and organizational skills. Commitment to equity, inclusion, and culturally responsive repertoire and practices.   Preferred, but not required   Master’s degree in Music or Education. Experience with marching band, jazz ensemble, or contemporary/pop ensembles. Background in musical theatre direction or pit conducting. Experience integrating technology (MIDI, DAWs, looping, live sound). Bilingual or multilingual abilities. Successful record of festival participation, adjudication, or competition leadership.
