Responsibilities

Position Summary

The Digital Delivery Systems Manager leads the Design Production function inside the Design & Engineering Department at Brasfield & Gorrie and owns the systems it runs on. This role is responsible for structural plan production and for the design technology behind it - the workspace, templates, standards, content, and automation that turn structural engineering into coordinated, construction-ready plan sets.

The role leads two functions: Structural Plan Production (Revit-based drawing production and BIM coordination) and Design Technology (templates, standards, content libraries, and automation). The Digital Delivery Systems Manager is the primary operating link between engineering demand and production capacity, and supports engineering deliverables issued under a professional seal, maintaining design intent through every revision and issue cycle.

Responsibilities and Essential Duties include the following (other duties may be assigned):

Design Technology & Production Systems

  • Develop and own the department’s structural plan production system: Revit workspace, project templates, shared parameters, family and detail libraries, note libraries, and schedule-ready content.
  • Develop and maintain automation tools that improve production speed, consistency, and sheet quality.
  • Own the production quality control process and its documentation standards, including checking procedures, issue-set control, revision discipline, and version management.
  • Own the model coordination protocol with the VDC department across design and issuance milestones, including a disciplined process for incorporating field-driven changes without compromising contract documents.
  • Evaluate and recommend new tools, workflows, automations, and technologies that improve production efficiency, drawing quality, or engineering-to-production handoff.
  • Partner with the VDC department and IT on software licensing, version management, and integration with Autodesk Construction Cloud and related platforms.

Production Operations & Team Leadership

  • Lead day-to-day plan production operations including how work enters the team, how it is prioritized and staffed, and how deliverables are issued.
  • Guide, develop, and support production staff including contributing to hiring and onboarding as the function grows.
  • Maintain a team culture aligned with the department’s standards: accuracy, ownership, and constructability awareness.

Engineering Interface & Capacity Planning

  • Serve as the primary operating link between the engineering practices (Vertical Design, Construction Engineering) and the Design Production team.
  • Align production capacity to engineering demand by forecasting upcoming work, surfacing constraints early, and keeping delivery moving without interrupting engineering workflow.
  • Attend project kickoffs and milestone reviews to represent the Design Production team’s scope, timeline, and delivery requirements.
  • Coordinate with Senior Engineers and Discipline Engineers on drawing release schedules, revision sequencing, and production quality expectations.
  • Develop cost estimates and production schedule for plan production activities

Delivery Quality & Standards

  • Own the quality of all Design Production output. Drawing sets must be accurate, coordinated, and construction-ready before issuance.
  • Maintain design intent through the document lifecycle by ensuring that sheets, schedules, and details accurately reflect the engineering design through every revision and issue cycle.
  • Enforce department drawing standards, BIM execution requirements, and QC checkpoints consistently across the team.
  • Identify and resolve production bottlenecks, coordination gaps, and recurring quality issues before they reach the engineering team or project team.
  • Maintain version control, file management, and documentation discipline across all active projects in the production queue.

Education - Skills - Knowledge - Qualifications & Experience

Required

  • Demonstrated experience developing BIM production infrastructure, including templates, standards, content libraries, and automation.
  • Experience leading or directing the work of production professionals.
  • Advanced proficiency in Autodesk Revit; working knowledge of Navisworks, AutoCAD, and Autodesk Construction Cloud (BIM 360 / ACC).
  • Structural or multi-discipline production experience with a working understanding of how structural drawings are organized, coordinated, and issued, including sealed issue sets across design development, construction document, and permit cycles.
  • Strong organizational and operating discipline: able to manage multiple concurrent projects, competing priorities, and production deadlines without losing quality.
  • Clear communicator across technical and non-technical audiences including engineers, project managers, superintendents, and external consultants.
  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in drafting and design technology, engineering technology, architecture, construction management, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred

  • 8+ years of BIM, design production, or VDC experience in an architectural, engineering, or construction environment.
  • Experience in a design-build or GC-integrated delivery environment where production is embedded with the construction team.
  • Familiarity with Dynamo scripting, Revit API, or similar BIM automation tools.
  • Structural production background with knowledge of foundation, steel framing, concrete, and connection detail documentation.
  • AGC CM-BIM certification or equivalent BIM credential.
  • Experience setting or enforcing BIM Execution Plans (BEPs) and department-level drawing standards.

The description shall not, however, be construed as a complete listing of all miscellaneous, incidental, or similar duties which may be required from day-to-day. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
