This position implements a varied activity program designed to meet the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of the Atlantic Shores residents. This position reports to the Activities Supervisor.    Essential Duties: Follows the Resident Services departmental established policies, procedures, and organizational plan for Atlantic Shores activity program. Keeps records and reports resident responses to the activity program. Assists in the movement of residents to and from activity areas. Leads discussion and special interest groups, games and other activities with patients such as creative crafts, bingo, gardening, parties, rhythm band, sing-along, decorating, drama activities and movies. Encourages and instructs individuals in recreation skills and activities. Works special events for residents, including those on holidays, evenings, and weekends. Must be flexible in scheduling availability to include being assigned to evenings, holidays, and weekend hours. Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or GED; or six months to one-year of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Ability to act in a resident’s best interest and make responsible choices and decisions. Ability to lead activities and motivate residents and fellow team members for their involvement in the planned social events and activities. Ability to handle multiple priorities in a timely manner. Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal), and the ability to facilitate small group presentations. Organization and time-management skills. Demonstrated proficiency in basic computer skills (Microsoft Office: Windows, Outlook, and Excel) and the ability to learn new applications.
