This position teaches Joint Targeting concepts, supports student learning and course administration, and works with the instructional team to review and improve course materials.  Duties and responsibilities Deliver Joint Targeting Staff course instruction in classroom and virtual learning environments, both as part of an instructional team and independently when required. Teach approved Joint Targeting course content using established lesson plans, training objectives, doctrine, and course schedules. Prepare for classes and complete required post-course administrative activities. Support curriculum reviews and recommend improvements to lessons, training aids, assessments, and distance-learning content. Compile student test information and support evaluation of student learning objectives. Provide subject matter expertise during meetings, conferences, curriculum reviews, and working groups. Apply adult-learning and instructional-design principles to improve course delivery and instructional materials. Provide observations and recommendations following courses, meetings, and training events. Perform other related duties incidental to the work described. Travel of up to approximately 20% may be required to support training, meetings, conferences, working groups, audits, accreditation visits, or mobile training at other Government locations. QualificationsQualifications Familiarity with Instructional Systems Design and curriculum development. Strong written and oral communication and presentation skills. Ability to work collaboratively with instructors, course managers, and other stakeholders. Strong organization, planning, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Experience with the Joint Training System and Service or Combatant Command major exercises is highly desirable; five (5) years of military or DoD support-contractor experience in this area aligns with the position’s performance expectations. Primary work location is the Joint Targeting School, Dam Neck Annex, Naval Air Station Oceana, Virginia Beach, Virginia. The normal schedule is Monday through Friday, generally 40 hours per week. Maintain a professional image and standards of conduct and clearly identify as contractor personnel when performing duties in Government settings. A minimum of four (4) years of relevant experience is required. Years of Relative Work Experience: Candidates should demonstrate success in at least three (3) of the following areas: At least four (4) years of experience in joint training. Experience and competency in the Joint Targeting Cycle. Expert knowledge and understanding of collateral damage methodology, procedures, and applicable DoD and Joint Staff guidance. At least one (1) year of experience in adult training or equivalent education. Knowledge and experience with Joint and Service doctrine, combat operations, combat service, combat service support, and equipment. Experience developing and presenting briefings to support problem resolution. Knowledge and experience with communications and information systems training. Experience in military or national-level intelligence gathering and analysis; military intelligence officer or non-commissioned officer experience is strongly preferred. Knowledge and experience with Joint Doctrine and Chairman’s Instructions/Manuals. Experience designing and developing interactive web-based or blended-learning courses. Clearance: Must have and maintain a final U.S. TOP SECRET clearance with Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) access and complete required security and information assurance training.
