Conducting under supervisor direction, preventive maintenance, routine servicing, seasonal repairs and changes, building equipment and plumbing repairs. This position reports to the Project Coordinator. Performs general maintenance duties, such as: fixing wall covers, floor covers and some furniture and fixtures; light plumbing work, minor electrical repair and appliance repairs. Performs painting and refurbishing projects, as directed by supervisor. Performs routine preventive maintenance, as directed by supervisor. Performs minor building and equipment repairs. Accomplishes all work in the order of priority set by supervisor. Assists with snow removal efforts during winter season, as necessary. Does routine maintenance on all vehicles when assigned. Maintains work areas and equipment/tools in a neat and clean manner that meets safety standards. When QUALIFIED, assists the Director of Plant Services and/or performs work on the heating and air conditioning systems, domestic water systems, refrigeration systems, pumps, motors, fans, electrical systems and emergency generators.   Education and/or Experience:  High School diploma or equivalent in training, education and experience. Minimum one year experience in building maintenance. One year or more experience in apartment and/or healthcare community maintenance Renovation experience including: Painting: Trim, walls, decks Carpentry: Install/remove cabinetry, doors, walls, trim work Drywall: Repairs and new install Electrical: Replacing switches/outlets, installing new light fixtures Plumbing: Hooking up residential faucets, toilets, drains Flooring: Carpet, tile, LVP Must have thorough understanding of all building systems and their interdependence. Must possess current and valid driver’s license consistent with the requirements determined by size of vehicle and laws of the state in which the driver is licensed. Strong professional communication skills. Ability to work with a diverse team. Organization and time-management skills. Positive attitude and self-motivated.
