Laundry Attendant

A laundry attendant is responsible for cleaning, drying, folding, and organizing laundry items in settings like hotels, hospitals, laundromats, or care facilities.

Position Summary:
A laundry attendant ensures that linens, clothing, and other textiles are properly washed, dried, pressed, and distributed while maintaining cleanliness and efficiency in the laundry area. This position is difficult to access without personal transportation.

Locality: Oceana Industrial Park Near Oceana Naval base

• Sort laundry by color, fabric type, and level of soiling
• Operate washing machines and dryers according to instructions
• Add appropriate detergents, softeners, and chemicals
• Fold, press, and package clean laundry
• Inspect items for stains or damage and rewash or report as needed
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the laundry area
• Monitor and restock laundry supplies (detergents, bags, etc.)
• Follow safety and sanitation guidelines
• Possibly deliver clean laundry to designated areas

• May involve exposure to heat, humidity, and cleaning chemicals
• Typically requires standing for long periods and lifting loads of laundry

• Ability to operate laundry equipment
• Attention to detail and quality
• Physical stamina (standing, lifting, repetitive tasks)
• Basic organizational skills
• Time management and efficiency
• Ability to follow instructions and safety procedures
• Will need valid drivers license depending on assignment
