Job Title: Production Welder (Level II–III)
Location: Virginia Beach, VA
Employment Type: Contract to Hire
Pay Range: $20.00 to $29.00 per hour, based on weld test results and overall evaluation

Position Overview

We are hiring experienced Production Welders (Level II–III) to support fabrication and manufacturing operations. This role involves performing a variety of welding and metal fabrication tasks while maintaining high standards for quality, safety, and efficiency in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

Perform welding using MIG, TIG, wire feed, spot welding, and oxy-acetylene torch methods
Prepare, clean, and finish welds to meet quality standards
Set up materials and layouts using hand tools or material handling equipment
Operate grinders, sanders, wire wheels, and other finishing tools
Weld structural components such as I-beams, frames, and tanks in multiple positions (flat, vertical, overhead)
Assemble components using methods such as clamping, tack welding, drilling, tapping, cutting, and bolting
Read and follow blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications
Inspect welds and completed assemblies; perform rework when needed
Adjust welding equipment, including wire and gas changes, as required
Ensure proper setup and safe operation of all welding equipment
Perform routine equipment checks and report maintenance needs
Support pressure testing of fabricated parts when required
Complete assigned work within established production timelines and quality expectations
Accurately track work completed and time using company systems
Report any material, quality, or safety concerns to supervisors

Qualifications

Required

High School Diploma or equivalent
Hands-on experience with welding and fabrication tools/equipment
Ability to read measurements and perform basic math calculations
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions

Preferred

Prior experience in a manufacturing or production welding environment
MIG welding certification
TIG welding experience or certification
Technical or vocational training in welding or fabrication
