8770 Lifestyle Fitness Center

To coordinate screening services and exercise classes; and to schedule and direct the exercise physiologists and medical assistants.

QUALIFICATIONS

License /Certification
Required: HearsSaver AED


Preferred: Current Pilates certification from an approved agency

Education
Required: Bachelor's degree in Exercise Physiology/Exercise Science

Experience
Required: Prior clinical experience

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Knowledge of basic anatomy, exercise physiology, sport injury, ACSM guidelines on exercise training and cardiopulmonary risk factors.


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Essential

Schedules exercise physiology staff, and available appointment times for fitness testing/health screenings.
Plans and schedules off-site screenings with community groups.
Orders and maintains supplies and equipment used for exercise testing/health screenings.
Responsible for coordinating the submission of a health/fitness article for the member newsletter.
Works collaboratively with clinical Directors/Coordinators on the development and implementation of transitionary classes supporting the areas of clinical rehabilitation.
Schedules exercise physiology staff and/or self to work as multi-disciplinary support staff in the outpatient clinics.
Instructs or schedules exercise physiology staff for all therapeutic exercise classes.
Assists Operations Manager in the development of a continued education calendar for the fitness staff.
Assists Director and Operations Manager in developing the budget for new/replacement equipment and operational hours within the fitness area.
Assists Director and Operations Manager in CQI and Strategic Planning for The Lifestyle Center.
Plays an active role in The Lifestyle Center's medical advisory board.
Administers health screenings/fitness testing both on and off site.
Gives exercise prescriptions.
Conducts lectures on various aspects of exercise and exercise physiology.
Interfaces with physicians when necessary.
Demonstrates cardiovascular and weight resistance equipment.
Conducts one-on-one exercise sessions.
Creates and builds working relationships with members and staff.
Informs management of problems or complaints regarding the facility.
Evaluates staff and conducts performance evaluations with Manager review/approval.


Additional

Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care and services appropriate to the population served on the assigned unit or work area.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Pay Range

$25.28 -$37.92
