Evening - 8 Hour or less Shift (United States of America)

8440 Environmental Svcs-KHMC

Performs a variety of routine and specialized cleaning of the sterile areas and associated surgery related areas. Primarily responsible for the effective use of proper cleaning equipment use and cleaning procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education
Required: High School diploma or equivalent GED

Experience
Required: Minimum of six months environmental services experience.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Successful completion of specialized sterile areas cleaning training as applicable
Working knowledge of basic cleaning procedures, particularly as it relates to the sterile areas.
Working knowledge of materials, methods and practices used in cleaning operations.
Working knowledge of the operation and care of cleaning electrical equipment and other EVS equipment.
Ability to exercise care in the use of cleaning materials for different types of building surfaces.
Ability to maintain a high standard of cleanliness and odor control in work area.
Ability to read and write and follow direct written and oral instructions.
Ability to multi-task and collaborate with key stakeholders.

Testing
Must pass the Physical Capacity Exam (PCE). This exam includes a 50-pound lifting requirement.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential

Performs cleaning and disinfection of all Sterile areas, with particular attention to the special needs in surgical areas; sterile processing; and medication rooms in accordance with regulatory standards and established organization’s procedures. Aware of medication room access and security protocol, to include immediately reporting any security breach.



Additional

Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care and services appropriate to the population served on the assigned unit or work area.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Pay Range

$20.38 -$30.57
