We’re looking for a skilled Maintenance Shop Supervisor to oversee our maintenance shop and lead a team of talented technicians. In this role, you’ll ensure that our trucks and equipment are safe, reliable, and ready to keep our community moving. If you’re hands-on, organized, and passionate about leading a high-performing team, this is the perfect opportunity for you!

What You’ll Do

  • Lead the Shop: Supervise and assign daily work to technicians, ensuring timely completion of repairs and preventive maintenance.

  • Keep Equipment Safe & Reliable: Oversee inspections, emergency repairs, and maintenance of Class 6-8 trucks and other heavy-duty equipment.

  • Train & Develop: Provide hands-on guidance, mentoring, and ongoing skills development for your team.

  • Stay Compliant: Ensure work meets DOT, CHP, OSHA, and Cal/OSHA standards, maintaining accurate records and safety protocols.

  • Collaborate Across Teams: Communicate repair timelines and operational updates to fleet management and operations teams.

  • Manage Inventory & Supplies: Maintain parts inventory, track supplies, and coordinate vendor orders.

  • Promote a Positive Culture: Foster teamwork, uphold company values, and maintain a clean, safe, and organized shop.

What You’ll Bring

  • Education: High school diploma or GED required; technical certification or associate degree in diesel technology or related field preferred.

  • Experience:

    • 3+ years in heavy-duty truck or equipment maintenance

    • 2+ year in a supervisory or lead technician role

    • Experience with Class 6-8 vehicles preferred

  • Skills:

    • Proficiency with maintenance software (e.g., Dossier) and diagnostic tools (Cummins Insite, Allison DOC, Bendix ACom)

    • Strong knowledge of DOT, OSHA/Cal-OSHA regulations, and preventive maintenance best practices

    • Excellent communication, organization, and team leadership skills

    • Microsoft Office proficiency; ADP familiarity a plus

    • Bilingual (Spanish) preferred

    • Class C license required; Class B CDL preferred

Physical Requirements

  • Comfortable working in an active shop environment

  • Regularly bend, lift, grip, and move materials and tools

  • Ability to perform repetitive motions and operate diagnostic equipment
