Position summary:Â The Maintenance Technician/Groundskeeper performs a combination of routine, preventive, and emergency maintenance on facility structures and equipment, as well as seasonal grounds maintenance. This role requires a broad skill set including mechanical, electrical, carpentry and drywall repair, plumbing, painting, and hydraulic systems, and experience using zero radius and push mowers, weed edgers, and chainsaws.Â

Must be 21 years of age or older.
High School Diploma is required.Â
A minimum of 1 year of previous maintenance experience is required. Must be skilled in the use of various hand tools, plumbing and electrical equipment, power tools, and lawn equipment.
Must have a valid driver’s license and proof of vehicle insurance.
Essential job functions:
Perform Facility Maintenance and Repairs:Â Complete routine, preventive, and emergency maintenance on buildings, equipment, and facility systems, including carpentry, plumbing, drywall, painting, mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic repairs to ensure safe and efficient operations.
Maintain Campus Grounds:Â Perform seasonal groundskeeping duties including mowing, trimming, edging, pruning, planting, debris removal, snow and ice removal as needed, and maintaining the overall appearance and safety of lawns, walkways, parking lots, and landscaped areas.
Respond to Maintenance Requests:Â Prioritize and complete work orders and unscheduled maintenance requests in a timely manner, diagnosing problems and implementing appropriate repairs to minimize disruptions to campus operations.
Operate and Maintain Tools and Equipment:Â Safely operate, inspect, and maintain maintenance and groundskeeping equipment, including zero-turn and push mowers, weed trimmers, chainsaws, hand tools, and power tools, while following established safety procedures and maintaining a clean, organized work environment.
Work Schedule: Â This position requires, on average, 40 hours per week. Normal work hours are Monday - Friday 7 am - 3:30 pm. However, depending on the project cycles and workflow demands, additional hours or workday schedule changes may be required. Must be able to work every eighth weekend and be on-call as needed during the week as part of an on-call duty rotation.
Physical Demands & Work Environment:Â The employee in this role will work in various indoor and outdoor settings, at varying heights, and with exposure to a wide range of weather conditions. There will be frequent exposure to dirt, dust, grass, pollen, noise, vibrations, cleaning products, paints, fuels, lubricants, fumes, and other maintenance-related materials. This position requires significant physical stamina. The employee must be able to stand and walk for significant periods of time, reach overhead and outward, squat and bend, climb ladders and stairs, and lift, carry, push, and pull objects up to 50 pounds.Â
