POSITION SUMMARY

The Compliance Associate supports the Compliance Manager/BSA Officer in administering STRATA Trust Company's Compliance and Risk Management Program. This role assists with regulatory compliance monitoring, policy administration, risk assessments, regulatory examinations, Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) activities, and other compliance initiatives that help ensure the organization operates in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies.


Success in this position requires exceptional attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to consistently produce accurate, timely work while managing multiple priorities. The ideal candidate is dependable, analytical, and committed to maintaining the high standards of accuracy, documentation, and regulatory compliance essential to a highly regulated environment.


This is a full-time, in-person position based in our Waco office (7901 Woodway Drive) with a consistent Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM schedule, including Banker’s holidays.

WHAT WILL YOU DO?

This role provides day-to-day support for STRATA Trust Company's Compliance and Risk Management Program, with responsibilities spanning compliance monitoring, risk management, regulatory examinations, BSA/AML activities, policy administration, and cross-functional support.


Key Responsibilities include:

  • Support the administration of STRATA Trust Company's Compliance and Risk Management Program, including maintaining policies, procedures, and compliance documentation.
  • Perform compliance monitoring and review activities to evaluate adherence to applicable laws, regulations, internal policies, and industry best practices.
  • Assist with risk assessments, internal reviews, and monitoring of corrective actions to support effective risk management.
  • Research regulatory changes and assist in implementing updates to compliance policies, procedures, and program documentation.
  • Prepare workpapers, reports, and supporting documentation for compliance reviews, management reporting, and regulatory examinations.
  • Coordinate and organize documentation for regulatory examinations, legal requests, and other compliance-related inquiries.
  • Support BSA/AML and OFAC compliance activities, including sanctions screening, FinCEN 314(a) searches, and related recordkeeping.
  • Partner with departments across the organization to promote compliant business practices and provide guidance on compliance-related procedures.
  • Identify opportunities to improve compliance processes and enhance operational efficiency.
  • Other duties as assigned and/or taken on.

We're looking for a dependable, detail-oriented professional who enjoys working in a highly regulated environment. The ideal candidate is organized, analytical, and committed to producing accurate, high-quality work while supporting a strong culture of compliance and risk management.


The ideal candidate will have:

  • A bachelor’s degree in business, Accounting, Risk Management, Criminal Justice, or a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform operational, detail-focused work.
  • 1 – 3+ years of experience in banking, financial services, compliance, risk management, operations, or a related field. 
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to consistently produce accurate work and meet established deadlines. 
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities. 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams. 
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment when handling sensitive information. 

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in compliance, risk management, or operations within a financial institution. 
  • Knowledge of BSA/AML, OFAC, or other financial services regulatory requirements. 
  • Experience supporting regulatory examinations, compliance monitoring, or internal review activities. 
  • Familiarity with self-directed retirement accounts or alternative asset administration.
