Bring your food-service experience to a role where every meal supports a child’s growth and learning. UCCA is seeking a dependable Cook to prepare nutritious, family-style meals for children and staff in our Head Start and Early Head Start programs.

This is an opportunity to use your kitchen skills in a mission-driven environment with a consistent weekday schedule.

Starting Rate: $13.16  per hour

Schedule: Monday–Friday 6:30am-2:30pm (40 hours/week)

What You’ll Do
  • Prepare and serve nutritious meals and snacks
  • Maintain kitchen cleanliness and food safety standards
  • Assist with food inventory and supply organization
  • Follow CACFP and program nutrition guidelines
  • Operate kitchen equipment safely
  • Support a positive dining experience for children

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Six months to one year of related food service experience preferred
  • Serve Safe Certification required within six months of employment
  • Ability to operate commercial kitchen equipment
  • Valid driver’s license required
  • Must pass a pre-employment physical, drug screening and TB test, and must submit to random drug screenings.

Physical Requirements
Must be able to stand for extended periods, operate kitchen equipment safely, lift food and kitchen supplies up to 50 pounds, and work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
