POSITION SUMMARY

ALCOVA Mortgage Loan Officers are experienced and passionate mortgage professionals who thrive in a fast-paced environment, originating residential and government mortgages while providing the highest level of customer service. Loan Officers are responsible for educating, advising, and assessing financial needs and eligibility for various loan products, while guiding borrowers through the mortgage loan process. In addition, Loan Officers are responsible for developing relationships with referral partners to foster business growth. 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Successfully develop and use creative marketing and sales practices with potential clients, clients, and referral partners to generate new business
  2. Build and manage electronic database of past clients, referral partners, and potential clients
  3. Maintain accurate pipeline management and timely follow-up communication 
  4. Create collateral presentation materials
  5. Conduct face-to-face sales presentations to individuals and groups
  6. Organize and attend broker open houses
  7. Educate borrowers on all loan products
  8. Review all loan applications thoroughly for accuracy and completeness prior to submittal
  9. Partner with processing and closing teams to ensure efficient loan closings 
  10. Complete company reporting requirements accurately and in a timely fashion 
  11. Monitor trends, new developments, and financial data impacting the mortgage industry

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, LICENSURE, AND COMPETENCIES

  1. High school diploma or equivalent 
  2. Minimum of one year experience in the mortgage industry is required; two years of mortgage experience or previous sales support experience is preferred
  3. Must be actively and appropriately licensed as a Loan Officer and possess National Mortgage Licensing & Registry (NMLS) registration under the Safe Act of 2008
  4. Strong pipeline management skills, with an ability to prioritize complex and diversified duties 
  5. Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  6. Ability to work collaboratively with others 
  7. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills 
  8. Strong customer service skills
  9. Proficient in mathematics and financial principles with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  10. Self-starter, self-reliant, highly motivated and dependable
  11. Proficient computer skills, especially with Microsoft Office 
  12. Ability to learn new computer systems and programs 
  13. Ability to adapt to changing environments, situations, and job responsibilities
  14. Ability to work flexible hours and overtime, if needed 
  15. Must be trustworthy, honest, and able to continuously display a high level of integrity
  16. Knowledge of federal and state fair lending requirements
  17. Compliance with all Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Anti-Money Laundering (AML) laws, and Office of Foreign Asset Controls (OFAC) requirements are required. Employees must complete annual training in these areas.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This position is primarily field-based and requires customarily and regularly working away from the employer's place of business to develop business relationships, generate mortgage loan opportunities, and meet with customers and referral partners. Occasional administrative work is performed in an office or remote work setting. 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Requires frequent local travel and the ability to drive to customer and referral partner locations. Regularly requires sitting, standing, walking, speaking, listening, and using standard office equipment, including a computer and telephone. Must be able to occasionally lift and carry up to 20 pounds and safely perform the physical activities associated with an outside sales role. Specific vision abilities include close vision and the ability to operate a motor vehicle safely. 

TRAVEL

Regular local travel is an essential function of this position. The Loan Officer is expected to customarily and regularly work outside of ALCOVA Mortgage's office locations to develop business, meet with prospective and existing clients, real estate professionals, builders, and other referral partners, attend networking and community events, and originate residential mortgage loans. Short trips to local branch offices and/or Corporate, regional meetings, or occasional off-site training seminars, which may require overnight stays, is also required. Must hold a valid U.S. driver's license and have reliable personal transportation, with all work-related mileage and expenses reimbursed by the Company.

EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK

Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
