Clampco Products is growing! We are seeking two additional Product Application Engineers to join our exceptional engineering team at our manufacturing facility.  These new positions are being added due to increasing customer demand and our ongoing efforts to expand market share—as a 100% Employee-Owned Company, we’re committed to continuous growth and innovation!

As a Product Application Engineer, you will work hands-on with a collaborative and experienced engineering team. You’ll be responsible for designing custom products and coordinating the manufacturing process from concept to completion. The role involves completing assigned tasks within set deadlines, supporting other engineers with their projects, and applying technical expertise to meet customer and production needs.

 Essential Functions:

•    Ensure deliverables are executed timely fulfilling customer demand by using project management skills.

•    Coordination of tasks between sales, QA, production, and customers

•    Interact as technical liaison and forward facing with customers.

•    Coordinate NVH testing/geometry specification adherence to customer specifications

•    Facilitate problem solving for best solution and application of product.

•    Provide new order quotation technical support

•    Conduct product research, testing and development

    • Use of Finite Elements Analysis to aid in prediction of clamp loading characteristics.
    • Develop the best choice of materials based on customer application requirements.

•    Meets regularly with engineering/quality and sales identifying trends, projections, and customer development possibilities for the aerospace industry.

•    Interact with departments within Clampco Products. 

  • Production:
    • Authorized to disposition scrap/finished parts
    • Assist in authorizing reworks

•    Introduce and/or improve technologies in terms of quality, cost and robustness in collaboration with the production team. 

    • Change management of current product offerings based on demand. 
    • Provide technical support to the sales team. 
    • Technical review of new specifications and revision changes with design team

Education and Experience Requirements:

•    Bachelor’s degree in engineering, materials science, or related field required.

•    2 or more years of practical experience working in technical development with aerospace materials and/or in the clamping industry is highly preferred.

•    Other manufacturing experience as a product engineer in other industries will be considered. 

•    Experience of presenting solutions to customers and leading technical discussions.

•    Able to read/ interpret prints, prepare design/ CAD/route plan and offer design solutions.

•    Strong interpersonal and communication skills, ability to interact effectively with cross-functional teams.

•    Ability to think like an owner under Clampco’s ESOP philosophy

Work Environment:

•    Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., onsite with some flexibility

•    Ability to walk, navigate stairs, use PPE and follow all safety standards

•    Lift up to 25# with or without accommodation

•    Ability to perform the essential functions of the job consistent with ADA, and other federal, state, and local standards.  

•    Travel is negligible; we must be able to attend technical workshops, symposiums relevant to the position and organization needs as an ESOP employer.
