Laboratory Assistant

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Phlebotomy training 
• Knowledge of laboratory equipment and procedures
• Ability to follow strict protocols and procedures
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy

Preferred Qualifications:

• 1-3 Years Experience working in a hospital or clinical setting
• Familiarity with medical terminology
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work well in a team environment
• Valid certification in phlebotomy

Responsibilities:

• Collect blood samples from patients using venipuncture or capillary puncture techniques
• Prepare and label samples for laboratory testing
• Maintain accurate records of patient information and sample collection
• Ensure a safe and sterile environment for sample collection
• Communicate effectively with healthcare professionals and patients

Skills:

As a Laboratory Assistant at WCH, you will utilize your skills in laboratory equipment, hematology, chemistry, cytology specimen processing, and biochemistry on a daily basis.
