Reporting to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager, the Intern will assist assisting manufacturing in improving product fit and finish as well as improving manufacturing processes.
Education/Experience
Must be enrolled in an Engineering degree program, mechanical or manufacturing preferred
Experience with Creo, Autodesk Inventor or equivalent CAD system
Good knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite

Responsibilities
Research, design, and implement manufacturing equipment (fixtures, tools, machines)
Product/component simplification and standardization which included analysis of existing components, research on alternatives and design of new component layouts
Investigate, evaluate, document, and optimize existing manufacturing processes
The idea is that each intern works on a project that is tailored to the specific skills and interests of the candidate
Work Conditions
Moderate to high stress environment as work deadlines are reached
Time split between an office setting and various areas of the plant
Employee may be required to work in potentially hazardous environments requiring protective equipment
Employee may be exposed to elements such as noise, dust, odors, fumes and oil
Employee may have to lift or move up to 50 lbs. with mechanical assistance
