POSITION SUMMARY:

The Research Program Hoʻolokahi Manager is responsible for the overall coordination, organization, and efficient operation of the WCCHC Research Department housed at Hoʻolokahi. This position carries two primary functions: (1) overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Research Department at Hoʻolokahi, and (2) coordinating the activities of the WCCHC Institutional Review Board (IRB)—the only functioning community-based IRB in the state of Hawaiʻi.

The Manager works closely with the Research Department Director to manage Hoʻolokahi research space and support the implementation of all active and future research projects in alignment with WCCHC’s Research Guiding Principles.


EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

1.  Bachelor’s degree in public health, health sciences, human services, or a related field from an accredited institution; OR at least five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in a community health center, community-based program, or research environment, including experience in planning and managing staff required

2.  Certificate of completion of CITI Program, PHRP, or equivalent training on the protection of human subjects in research; if not had at time of hire will be required within 90 days of hire date

3.  Experience working in or with Indigenous, Native Hawaiian, or Pacific Islander communities preferred

4.  Familiarity with IRB processes, CBPR, or federal human subjects regulations (45 CFR 46) preferred

5.  A current Driver’s License and daily access to an automobile required
