| Overall Purpose of the Position: | A Sleep Assistant/Trainee develops competency in and performs the basics of polysomnographic testing and associated interventions under direct supervision of a Sleep Technologist. |

| Minimum Qualifications: | Â |
| Desired Skills & Knowledge: | Basic knowledge of sleep medicine, human anatomy, physiology, pathology, pharmacology and medical terminology. High school diploma or GED plus 6 months of direct patient care experience or 1 year of postsecondary education or current enrollment in an accredited educational program leading to an associate degree with an emphasis in polysomnography. |

| Working Conditions & Physical Requirements: | Employees must be physically able to perform, efficiently and effectively, the essential duties of the position which typically require the ability to read without strain printed material the size of typewritten characters, glasses permitted, and the ability to hear the conversational voice, with or without a hearing aid, or the ability to compensate satisfactorily.The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
