Position Overview and Responsibilities:
As Assistant Director of Laundry Operations, you will assist the Director in overseeing the daily operations of the Laundry Department to ensure quality control, productivity, and service standards are achieved. You will play a key role in supervising team members, monitoring workflow, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring timely completion of deliveries and requisitions. This position requires strong leadership, attention to detail, and a commitment to operational efficiency while fostering a positive and productive work environment.
Working closely with the Director of Laundry Operations, you will support staffing, scheduling, training, and daily production activities to ensure the department operates effectively and consistently meets the needs of the resort, its guests, and internal departments. Your ability to balance administrative responsibilities with hands-on operational leadership will contribute significantly to the department's overall success.

Essential Duties:
- Oversee the operations to coordinate wash times, production flows, and quality control to maximize production.
- Maintain and tabulate all linen counts at the end of the day.
- Ensure that all linen deliveries and pick-ups are done timely.
- Ensure that the laundry area is clean and orderly.
- Ensure safety procedures and policies are maintained and OSHA regulations are followed.
- Assist in ordering and inventory of linen, chemicals, and supplies.
- Prepare daily / weekly/monthly billing and production reports into spreadsheets for billing purposes at the direction of the Director of Laundry.
- Prepare memos, complete forms, and process purchase requests/orders and reports.
- Assist with payroll for the Laundry Department. Assist with scheduling personal holidays and vacation requests.
- Assist with following up to ensure proper paperwork is received for sick calls and FMLA.
- Assist in the acquisition of materials, supplies, and quotes and maintain proper inventory levels.
- Maintain accurate digital records/files on contracts, purchases, and other related documents and correspondences.
- Assist in the preparation and tracking of the department's annual operating and CIP Budget.
- Accept payment for laundry charges, make changes, and follow proper cash handling procedures.
- Assure all work is done for the day linens and valet areas.
- Assist in special projects.
- Complete and maintain all reports for the department.
- Respond and resolve guest, homeowner’s account, outside account, or employee complaints or concerns.
- Perform other related duties as assigned or required.
- Represent the Laundry Department in conjunction with or in lieu of the Director of Laundry.

Other Duties:
- Conduct regular department meetings.
- Maintain department bulletin boards.
- Assist with laundry operations as needed.

Working Conditions:Â
- Works in a semi-air-conditioned laundry facility and office.
- Noise from washer, dryer, and other equipment.
- May work around hot equipment such as pressers, dryers, and irons.

Work Hours:
- Able to work schedule determined by the Director.
- Must be able to work a minimum of 50 hours weekly.
- Must be able to work weekends and holidays.
Â
Equipment Use:
- Proficient in the use of a computer and with the resort’s Word, spreadsheet, and other required software.
- Able to use telephone.
- Various office equipment including but not limited to calculators, photocopiers, and facsimile machines.
- Operate washer, dryer, steam tunnel and dry-cleaning machine, folding machine, pressers, laundry carousel.
- Hand truck.
- Vehicle with standard or automatic shift.

Mental and Physical Demands:
- Able to prioritize and organize workload to ensure deadlines are met.
- Able to manage stressful and challenging situations.
- Able to stand and walk during most of the shift.
- Able to sit at a desk to do administrative duties.
- Able to lift and carry up to 25 lbs of supplies, linen, or laundry.
- Able to push/pull over 50 lbs of supplies or linen with equipment.

Communication Demands:
- Must have the ability to communicate verbally or in writing to employees, managers, vendors, and guests/clients.
- Able to write memos, procedures, policies, contracts, and correspondence.
- Able to communicate over the phone.

Minimum Qualification Requirements:
- 2 years related work experience preferred.
- Skills to effectively supervise and manage the department and meet goals.
- Ability to multi-task
- Valid Driver’s license.
