Position Overview and Responsibilities:

As Restaurant Manager, you’ll lead daily operations to deliver exceptional food, service, and guest experiences. You’ll ensure all products, service standards, and the overall environment consistently exceed food and beverage expectations while fostering a positive, high‑performing team.

You’ll own guest satisfaction, manage schedules and labor costs, and stay current on all menu offerings—including food, wine, and beverages. With a strong business mindset, you’ll review P&Ls, drive the restaurant toward budget goals, apply marketing promotions to boost revenue, and create SOPs that strengthen consistency and performance.

Essential Duties:

  1. Assist in preparing annual operating and CIP budget for Food and Beverage.
  2. Responsible for ensuring that all products served, service levels, conduct and maintenance of the restaurant meet or exceed the standards of the food and beverage operations.
  3. Establish restaurant procedures and standard of operation.
  4. Manage restaurant following company policies, procedures and terms and conditions of the CBA.
  5. Review reservations, floor plan, and seating charts prior to service.
  6. Knowledgeable in all menu items including beverage, wine and other drinks served in the restaurant
  7. Greet guests, assist in seating, and servicing when needed.
  8. Ensure that special requests and VIP’s are serviced properly.
  9. Ensure county regulations and hotel policies on serving alcoholic beverages are followed.
  10. Hire, train, supervise, evaluate, counsel and discipline staff.
  11. Responsible for the work schedule and daily labor cost and other operating expense for the restaurant.
  12. Check daily labor report to ensure staff levels are within the set budget.
  13. Review, approve and verify department payroll.
  14. Prepare required payroll reports.
  15. Prepare storeroom requisitions.
  16. Insure all supplies, equipment and linen are available for operation of the restaurant.
  17. Make recommendations to menu or beverage items to remain competitive in the community.
  1. Restaurant equipment, i.e. coffee maker, cart, espresso machine, wine key, etc.

 

 

Other Duties:

  1. Conduct regular department meetings.
  2. Attend resort management meetings
  3. Maintain department bulletin boards.
  4. Assist restaurant staff with service when needed.
  5. Relieve in other food and beverage positions as needed.

Working Conditions:

  1. Normal office conditions
  2. Hotel restaurant or venues that are open for service.
  3. Restaurant kitchen; normal kitchen noises, loud voices, loud machines

Work Hours:

  1. Must be able to work schedule determined by the Director of Food and Beverage
  2. Must be able to work long and irregular hours.
  3. Must be able to work in excess of 50 hours per week.

Equipment Use:

  1. Proficient in the use of a computer and with the resort’s word, spreadsheet and other required software.
  2. Telephone
  3. Various office equipment including but not limited to calculators, photocopiers and facsimile machines.
  4. Company’s point of sale system
  5. Restaurant equipment, i.e. coffee maker, cart, espresso machine, wine key, etc.

Mental and Physical Demands:

  1. Able to prioritize and organize workload to ensure deadlines are met.
  2. Able to manage stressful and challenging situations.
  3. Able to stand, walk, bend, reach during most of shift
  4. Able to sit at a desk to do administrative duties.
  5. Lift and carry up to 25 lbs.
  6. Push and pull up to 50 lbs.

Communication Demands:

  1. Able to communicate verbally and in writing to employees, managers and guests.
  2. Able to communicate on the phone.
  3. Able to write memos, procedures and policies

Minimum Qualification Requirements:

  1. Minimum 6 years related experience
  2. Dept. of Health TB clearance
  3. Skills to effectively supervise and manage the department and meet goals
  4. Must be pleasant, friendly and smiling
  5. Ability to multi-task
  6. Liquor Commission Manager’s Card preferred, or acquired within 30 days after hire
