Cleveland-Cliffs Tubular Components has an immediate opportunity for a Quality Engineer at our Walbridge, OH location. The Quality Engineer is responsible for maintaining and continuously improving the quality assurance system by coordinating and investigating problems with the product and processes and recommending or implementing corrective action. Furthermore, the Quality Engineer's role is to lead and coordinate customer complaints, drive timely disposition, improve customer and vendor satisfaction. The ideal candidate will have quality assurance experience in a manufacturing facility with QS/ISO certification and experience with Tier 1 automotive.

Summary of Responsibilities:

  • Lead corrective action by using a variety of analytical and statistical tools
  • Develop, implement, monitor and control QA system to assure product quality based on customer and product specifications
  • Interface with customers and suppliers to resolve quality problems
  • Develop, motivate and train qualified personnel to QA standards
  • Solve internal and external quality problems
  • Provide customer complaint summary and trends to all personnel
  • Improve QA system procedures and instructions
  • Train personnel in QA procedures and instructions
  • Monitor cost of quallity, reduce waste and non-value-added activity
  • Layout and use of measuring tools.
  • Audit our QA system
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent experience
  • QS/ISO 9000 auditor trained
  • SPC, DOE, TOPS, APQP, PPAP, QFD
  • Layout and GD&T

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Effective communications
  • Analytical problem solver
  • Diplomatic
  • PC software, word processing and spreadsheets
