Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Provides technical support to Director of Surveys and/or the Field Coordinator.
  • Provides guidance to field technicians; directs small projects under the supervision of Director.
  • Performs field survey activities in accordance with standards set by the company, state statutes, and the surveying industry.
  • Assures crew adheres to procedures in the safety manual and uses all personal safety equipment provided.
  • Responsible for supervising crew vehicle, equipment inventory, loading, and maintenance and supervises the crew’s use of equipment, preparation of sketches and notes, and electronic data collection.
  • Supervises daily data collector downloading and prepares daily data logs, topographic and staking reports, and field change orders.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience working on a survey field crew
  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Proficiency in trigonometry and basic surveying computations
  • Experience operating and having knowledge of Total Stations, Data Collectors, GPS equipment and associated software
  • Must be willing to work in extreme weather conditions (i.e., cold, hot)
  • Must be able to walk and lift up to 50 lbs
  • Must have a valid driver’s license
