Project Engineer – Structural (Bridge)

Wall Township, NJ, US

French & Parrello Associates (FPA) is seeking a motivated and talented Project Engineer to join our growing Bridge Department at our headquarters in Wall Township, NJ. This is an exciting opportunity for a transportation professional who wants to advance their technical expertise, contribute to complex infrastructure projects, and build a long-term career with one of the Northeast’s fastest-growing engineering consulting firms.

Recognized year after year as one of NJBIZ’s Best Places to Work in New Jersey, FPA is committed to creating a culture where talented professionals are empowered to grow, collaborate, and succeed. In 2026, FPA was ranked #49 on Zweig’s Hot Firm List, recognizing the firm among the 100 fastest-growing AEC firms in the United States and Canada. Our continued growth is driven by our investment in our people, technical excellence, and commitment to delivering innovative solutions for the communities we serve.

The successful candidate will support the design and delivery of transportation infrastructure projects throughout New Jersey, including bridge rehabilitation, bridge replacement, and transportation improvement projects. This role provides the opportunity to work alongside experienced engineers, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and contribute to projects from preliminary design through construction support.

Unlike larger organizations where early-career engineers can become limited to a single area of responsibility, FPA provides Project Engineers with hands-on experience, mentorship, and exposure to all phases of project delivery. Our engineers are encouraged to develop technical expertise, take ownership of their work, and build the skills necessary for long-term professional growth.

Bridge Engineering Expertise & Project Experience

FPA’s Bridge Department has a long-standing reputation for delivering innovative solutions for complex transportation infrastructure projects throughout New Jersey and the Northeast. Our team has successfully completed bridge design, rehabilitation, inspection, and construction support assignments for NJDOT, DRJTBC, NJ Turnpike Authority, Garden State Parkway, PennDOT, counties, municipalities, and other transportation agencies. As a Project Engineer, you will have the opportunity to contribute to a diverse portfolio of projects including bridge replacements, deck replacements, structural rehabilitations, bridge widenings, load ratings, structural evaluations, and transportation improvements involving steel plate girders, rolled steel beams, prestressed concrete systems, culverts, pedestrian bridges, and specialty structures.

Working alongside experienced bridge engineers and multidisciplinary teams, Project Engineers at FPA gain exposure to all phases of project delivery, from preliminary engineering and design through construction support. Our projects include work on critical transportation corridors such as US Routes 1, 22, 27, 33, and 80, as well as assignments for major public agencies requiring innovative engineering solutions, collaboration, and a commitment to quality. This role provides the opportunity to develop technical expertise, contribute to impactful infrastructure projects, and build the foundation for long-term career growth within FPA’s Bridge Department.
