Overview

 

Alliance Cancer Specialists is seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our oncology care team at our Glenn Mills/ Riddle Practices. In this role, you’ll provide high-quality, patient-centered care in a collaborative clinical environment as needed. You’ll work closely with physicians and the interdisciplinary team to support patients through every step of their cancer journey.

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Deliver professional nursing care in accordance with national standards and oncology-specific guidelines
  • Assess patient health status through interviews, physical exams, and review of medical history
  • Administer medications, blood products, and therapies under physician supervision
  • Perform venipuncture, access ports, and maintain central line devices
  • Monitor lab results and collaborate with physicians on dose modifications and symptom management
  • Educate patients and families on treatment plans, medications, and available resources
  • Provide psychosocial support and coordinate care with the interdisciplinary team
  • Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with OSHA and infection control protocols
  • Assist with scheduling, triaging patient calls, and managing medication refill requests
  • Serve as a mentor to LPNs, MAs, and less experienced nurses
  • Participate in professional development and stay current with oncology nursing best practices

Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program
  • Current RN license and registration with the State Board of Nursing
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Minimum 1 year of clinical nursing experience (oncology experience preferred)

Physical & Work Environment Requirements:

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and lift up to 40 lbs
  • Manual dexterity and visual acuity required for patient care tasks
  • Exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, and medical preparations common to oncology clinics
  • In-person interaction with patients, physicians, and clinical staff is essential
  • Travel between our Glenn Mills and Riddle Practices is expected.
