As a Utility Shipping Operator you will be responsible for preparing packing list details for incoming and outgoing shipments, preparing items for shipment, coordinates packaging of finished goods needed by the finishing packing for the site. 

 

This position will be on first shift 6:30a-2:30p with a rate of $25/hr. 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Verify the accuracy of shipping notices, bills of lading, invoices, and orders, ensuring correctness in dates, weights, locations, and pricing.
  • Packaging various sized finished goods for shipment.
  • Operate fork trucks to load and unload materials safely and efficiently.
  • Supervise incoming and outgoing shipping processes, ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and condition of all shipments.
  • Prepare necessary paperwork for various shipments, including returns of scrap bins.
  • Update records of finished goods inventories to maintain accurate stock levels.
  • Secure pallets by strapping them down and applying stretch wrap to ensure stability during transportation.
  • Generate labels using the ERP system to facilitate accurate identification and tracking of shipments.
  • Utilize a crane to load and unload Radcon’s furnace equipment.
  • Packing and invoicing ESC, TMP, and Strip parts.
  • Preparing, bailing and managing scrap shipments.
  • Pack various items to support other departments.
  • Work on light machinery as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

SKILLS:

  • Basic computer functions for data entry purposes.
  • Must be detail-oriented with strong critical thinking and organizational skills.
  • Must be able to work weekends and holidays as scheduled.
  • Must be able to work overtime.

 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

  • Training provided for required Hazardous Material Shipping certification.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • This position requires walking, standing, bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, sitting, feeling, seeing, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions.
  • Ability to work around and on industrial equipment.
  • Ability to operate heavy equipment (e.g., forklift)
  • Ability to work from heights.
  • Ability to ascend and descend steep stairs and platforms.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a frequent basis.
  • Must be willing to work around dust, and other substances.
  • Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including but not limited to: hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, steel-toed boots, and hearing protection.
