Job Description:
The Palliative Care Medical Assistant works collaboratively with physicians, palliative care clinicians, and interdisciplinary team members to support comprehensive, patient-centered care for patients living with serious illness. This role blends front-office, administrative, care coordination, education, and patient advocacy responsibilities, ensuring smooth patient flow, continuity of care, and effective connection to internal and community-based resources. The Medical Assistant functions in a primarily front office setting, assisting with clinical support, care coordination, scheduling, authorizations, patient education about palliative care, and administrative tasks. The position reports to the Manager of Palliative Care.Education/Experience/Skills Requirements:
Education
Completion of an Accredited Medical Assistant Program - Required
Experience
3 year Ambulatory Care Experience - Preferred
1 year Electronic Medical Records (EMR) Experience - EPIC - Preferred
Certifications/Licensures
BLS - Basic Life Support - American Heart Association - Required
Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) Preferred or
CMA - Certified Medical Assistant Preferred and
Specialty areas may have additional requirements
