Overview:
We are seeking a driven and detail-oriented Assistant Project Manager (APM) to support our growing team. This role plays a key part in coordinating and executing construction projects, ensuring that deliverables are met on time and within budget, while fostering strong relationships with internal and external partners.
Responsibilities:
- Support Project Managers in the daily management of active projects.
- Assist with estimating, bidding, and subcontractor buyouts as needed.
- Prepare and maintain submittals and submittal logs, ensuring timely reviews and approvals.
- Review project specifications and assist with scope development for subcontracts (Exhibit B) and enumerations (Exhibit A).
- Help secure necessary permits from local, state, and federal agencies.
- Maintain project documentation including meeting minutes, schedules, change orders, punch lists, and close-out materials.
- Work with the PM and Superintendent to update and distribute project schedules.
- Assist with BIM/MEP coordination and procurement schedules; monitor long-lead items and supplier timelines.
- Attend job site and coordination meetings; represent the PM when necessary.
- Collaborate with vendors and subcontractors to manage compliance, documentation, and performance expectations.
- Provide administrative support including report preparation, document control, and data entry in Procore.
- Develop positive relationships with clients, design teams, and subcontractors through timely communication and professionalism.
- Support the PM in change management and cost control by obtaining pricing and assisting with owner and subcontractor change orders.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field.
- 2–3 years of relevant construction experience.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with MS Project and Procore preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret construction documents and perform quantity take-offs.
- OSHA 10 certification required.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and commitment to quality.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Willingness to travel to job sites within a 50-mile radius of Boston.
- Must wear company-provided uniform and adhere to site safety protocols.
