The Breakfast Attendant is responsible for providing friendly, efficient service to hotel guests during breakfast hours. This position ensures the breakfast area is clean, organized, well-stocked, and welcoming while maintaining high standards of guest service, food safety, and cleanliness.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Prepare and set up the breakfast buffet and dining area before service.
  • Ensure all food and beverage items are properly stocked and presented throughout breakfast service.
  • Monitor buffet items and replenish food, beverages, utensils, plates, and other supplies as needed.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary breakfast area throughout the shift.
  • Clear and clean tables promptly and reset them for incoming guests.
  • Assist guests with questions regarding breakfast offerings and hotel amenities.
  • Provide friendly, professional, and attentive service to all guests.
  • Monitor food temperatures and follow all food safety and sanitation procedures.
  • Properly store food and maintain appropriate food-handling standards.
  • Clean and sanitize tables, counters, equipment, dishes, and other work areas.
  • Assist with washing dishes and maintaining cleanliness in the kitchen and breakfast areas as needed.
  • Complete opening and closing duties according to department procedures.
  • Properly dispose of trash and maintain cleanliness of the surrounding areas.
  • Report equipment issues, maintenance concerns, or supply shortages to management.
  • Follow all hotel policies, procedures, and safety standards.
  • Work cooperatively with other departments and team members to provide an excellent guest experience.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

  • Previous hotel, restaurant, or customer service experience preferred but not required.
  • Ability to provide excellent guest service in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Must be reliable, punctual, and dependable.
  • Ability to maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Basic understanding of food safety and sanitation practices preferred.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and lift throughout the shift.
  • Ability to lift and carry supplies weighing up to 25–50 pounds as needed.

Guest Service Expectations

The Breakfast Attendant is expected to maintain a positive and professional attitude while interacting with guests. The position should anticipate guest needs, respond to requests promptly, and help create a welcoming breakfast experience that reflects the hotel's standards.

Schedule

Must be available to work early morning shifts, weekends, and holidays as required by hotel operations.

Physical Requirements

This position requires prolonged periods of standing and walking, as well as frequent bending, reaching, lifting, carrying, and pushing. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the position.
