Position Summary:
- Complete payroll processing activities to ensure compliance with applicable payroll laws and regulations, including reporting
- Review payroll transactions for accuracy, including employee earnings, deductions, taxes, benefits, and garnishments
- Maintain payroll records and ensure documentation complies with company policies and record retention requirements
- Participate in payroll audits and compliance reviews by preparing reports, documentation, and supporting records
- Monitor and research payroll regulations and assist with implementing changes resulting from multi-state payroll requirements, new legislation or company policy updates
- Conduct payroll tax reconciliations and support quarterly and annual tax reporting activities
- Monitor payroll inbox, investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies, employee inquiries, and tax notices
- Partner with Human Resources, Finance, Benefits, and external payroll vendors to resolve payroll compliance issues
- Support payroll system testing, upgrades, and process improvement initiatives, including updating and maintaining documentation
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field with 5+ years human resources, accounting, or payroll compliance experience, or equivalent experience
- Knowledge of payroll regulations, payroll tax requirements, and wage and hour laws
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion
