We are seeking a Principal Electrical Engineer to help shape the architecture and technical direction of next generation sensor platforms. This is a high impact individual contributor role focused on system level design, technical investigations, and hands-on execution, with a strong emphasis on moving early stage concepts into production ready systems.Â
As part of a small, highly collaborative engineering organization, you will work closely with other senior engineers to define system architectures, lead tradeoff analyses, and drive critical technical decisions. You will remain deeply hands-on in design, validation, and bring-up while helping elevate technical rigor across the team.Â
This role is ideal for an engineer who thrives at the intersection of analog, highspeed digital, mixed signal, and system integration, and who enjoys solving ambiguous problems by turning constraints into clear, robust designsÂ
 Â
What Success Looks Like:ÂWithin the first 12 months, this role will be successful if you:Â
- Lead a lower cost sensor platform from concept through system definition and into a validated architecture that meets performance, cost, and reliability requirementsÂ
- Establish clear architectural tradeoffs and technical direction across EE, firmware, mechanical, and manufacturingÂ
- Raise the technical bar through strong design ownership, reviews, and mentorshipÂ
- Proactively identify risk areas and close them through analysis, prototyping, and validationÂ
 Â
Key ResponsibilitiesÂSystem Architecture & Technical LeadershipÂ
- Own system level electrical architecture for sensor platforms, including power, signal integrity, interfaces, grounding, and integration across subsystemsÂ
- Lead technical investigations into new technologies, components, and architectures, including cost/performance tradeoff analysesÂ
- Drive clear, data backed architectural decisions and align cross functional teams around themÂ
- Serve as the final technical authority for critical design decisions and reviewsÂ
HandsOn Design & ExecutionÂ
- Actively design and review schematics, layouts, and system interfacesÂ
- Lead prototype bringup, debugging, and validation in the labÂ
- Define and execute test strategies to validate performance, robustness, and reliabilityÂ
- Support design for manufacturability, testability, and long-term supportÂ
Cross Functional InfluenceÂ
- Provide technical leadership across EE, firmware, mechanical, manufacturing, quality, and regulatoryÂ
- Push back constructively on scope, schedule, and cost when technical risk warrants itÂ
- Translate system level requirements into actionable electrical designsÂ
- Work closely with leadership to balance near term execution with longer term technology directionÂ
Mentorship & StandardsÂ
- Set technical expectations and best practices across the EE teamÂ
- Mentor senior and midlevel engineers through architecture discussions, reviews, and problem solvingÂ
- Drive consistency in design rigor, documentation, and validation approachesÂ
 Â
Required QualificationsÂ- Deep experience in highspeed digital, analog, mixed signal, and system level designÂ
- Proven ability to own and deliver system architecture, not just componentsÂ
- Handson experience taking products from concept through certification and productionÂ
- Strong background in tradeoff analysis across performance, cost, risk, and scheduleÂ
- Demonstrated success debugging complex, cross disciplinary system issuesÂ
- Comfort operating as a technical authority and influencing without formal management responsibilityÂ
 Â
Preferred ExperienceÂ
- System integration involving cables, grounding, shielding, and real world environmentsÂ
- EMC/EMI, safety, and regulatory complianceÂ
- Bringing down cost or complexity in system architecturesÂ
- Small or midsize company environments where roles are broad and impact is highÂ
 Â
Why This Role Matters:ÂThis role plays a critical part in shaping the future of our sensor platforms. You’ll have the opportunity to define architectures, influence product direction, and see designs through from first sketch to deployed system — while working closely with a tightknit team that values strong engineering judgment and execution.Â
