Construction Foreman Core Responsibilities:
Equipment Operation & Site Layout:
- Expertly operate and oversee grading machinery including bulldozers, graders, and excavators. Utilize GPS equipment and software for precise site grading and layout.
Blueprint Interpretation & Site Assessment:
- Accurately read and interpret blueprints, site plans, and engineering drawings. Conduct thorough site assessments to evaluate soil conditions and determine grading needs.
Team Leadership & Project Coordination:
- Lead, train, and manage grading operators and laborers. Plan, schedule, and coordinate grading tasks to meet project milestones efficiently.
Safety & Compliance:
- Enforce OSHA regulations and industry safety standards. Conduct safety training, perform inspections, and proactively implement accident prevention measures.
Quality Control & Issue Resolution:
- Inspect grading work for adherence to project specifications and quality standards. Quickly identify and resolve technical or operational issues on-site.
Record Keeping & Reporting:
- Maintain detailed and accurate records of grading activities, progress, and quality checks.
Problem Solving & Adaptability:
- Apply strong analytical skills to overcome challenges. Adapt to changing conditions and devise innovative solutions to keep projects on schedule.
Communication & Team Collaboration:
- Provide clear, concise instructions and maintain open communication with team members, project managers, and stakeholders. Foster a collaborative work environment to address and resolve team-related issues.
Construction Foreman Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; relevant technical certifications or an associate degree is a plus.
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in grading and earthwork
- Valid and clean driver’s license
