Job DetailsJob Location: Indian Head Casino - Warm Springs, OR 97761Position Type: Full TimeThe Director of Cage Operations is responsible for the successful overall direction, administration and coordination of all activities of the Cage Department in accordance with all established policies, procedures and Internal Controls of the Warm Springs Casino Enterprises (WSCE). This position works with the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), the Cage Manager, and other Senior Management staff to develop and implement practices, processes, and policies that ensure the highest level of guest service is always provided to all guests, internal customers and other outside parties while protecting the company’s assets and complying with all Federal, State, Tribal, and local laws, rules, and regulations. QualificationsEssential Duties and Responsibilities: The Director of Cage Operations is responsible for overseeing and guiding the Cage Team in the direction, coordination, and evaluation of all Cage functions Works with the Cage Manager, Senior Leadership, and other departments to ensure that the Cage meets the business needs and goals of the casino and its guests. Ensure that all new-hire and related Cage training is completed timely and effectively. Ensures the accurate count and protection of the assets (cash and cash equivalents) of the Warm Springs Casino Enterprises. Oversee control of the supply of currency on hand, working with the Cage Manager to ensure that currency and coin levels are sufficient to always meet the casino’s daily needs and legal requirements. Responsible for all BSA/Title 31 documentation by the Cage. Monitors transactions and associated documentation for accuracy and completeness. Ensures Cage operations follow all Federal and regulatory requirements. Develops and forecasts the department budget; manages and monitors department expenses resulting from daily operations and payroll. Participates in formulating and implementing company policies and developing long-range goals and objectives for the Cage Department. Works with Compliance to discuss the property’s risks and needs. Works with the Cage Manager and Supervisors to ensure the delivery and measurement of guest service practices are consistent with the company’s core service standards and brand attributes. Provides input into the research, development, evaluation, and implementation of new policies and processes to ensure the department’s compliance with Tribal, State, Federal and NIGC regulations. Creates a work environment that promotes teamwork, performance feedback, recognition, mutual respect, and team member satisfaction. Uses hiring, training, and succession planning processes that encompass WSCE’s diversity commitment. Adheres to the company’s philosophy and ensures that the Cage follows company policies and procedures. Leads and mentors the Cage team, setting performance targets, conducts evaluations, provides feedback to enhance productivity. This includes hiring, training, and managing employee performance. Develop team member training procedures relating to the Cage, cashiering, and supervising. Reviews scheduling of Cage personnel, ensuring that Cage is adequately staffed to always meet the level of business needs. Responsible for ensuring that issues relating to payroll and Human Resources are handled appropriately. Compiles required and special reports on operating functions of Casino Cage. Advise and briefs the Chief Financial Officer on any issues of concern regarding the Cage. Performs other duties and projects as requested. Education, Qualifications and Experience: A Bachelor’s Degree preferred. Ten (10) years of Cage Management experience. Ability to work with large sums of currency in an accurate and secure manner. Ability to design, implement, monitor, and audit documentation of all Cage transactions and changes to Cage accountability. Knowledge of Casino operations. Management experience including personnel practices and employment laws, budgeting, and fiscal management practices. Knowledgeable in FinCEN/BSA/Title 31 and Internal Control requirements. Knowledge of and adheres strictly to all Gaming Regulations. Understanding of fraud prevention and credit scams. Knowledge of paperwork flow regarding credits and debits. Excellent customer service skills. Ability to lead and mentor a team. Must have interpersonal skills to deal effectively with all business contacts. Professional appearance and demeanor. Will work varied shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays. Competencies: Excellent communications skills are essential. This includes verbal, written and listening skills. Must be able to communicate effectively with all levels of personnel, management and guests while providing excellent service to internal and external customers. Must maintain strict confidentiality. Must establish and maintain excellent working relationships with team members, Management, patrons and outside business contacts. Skill in solving practical problems and dealing effectively with situations where only limited standardization exists. Attention to detail and the ability to work in a timely, accurate, and organized manner. Ability to motivate, discipline, and supervise staff. Work in a team environment and produce results in conjunction with fellow team members. Work effectively with limited supervision. Requires the ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in complex situations while maintaining organization goals. Physical Demands: Some lifting and carrying is required. Lifting items weighing as much as 60 pounds may be required, but this should occur rarely, i.e., less than 15% of the time. This position requires reaching, manipulating, and keyboard operation (typing). This position requires sitting, stooping, standing, bending, and walking. This position requires intense and exacting mental and visual attention. Working Conditions: This job is typically performed under very comfortable working conditions; disagreeable elements are generally absent during normal job performance. However, at times, it requires working in areas where the noise level is high, where there is secondhand tobacco smoke while performing intense, complex and very involved tasks with major financial responsibility. Must observe and comply with all safety regulations and procedures, including the use of all safety equipment provided. Must always practice safety. Continuous mental and/or visual attention may be required; the work in the Cage can be either repetitive or diversified requiring constant alertness to monitor the accuracy of each transaction. Special Requirements: Must maintain a valid Oregon driver’s license. Must be 21 years of age or older. Must submit to and pass a drug/alcohol screening test. Must submit to and pass an Oregon State background investigation. Proven gaming license eligibility preferred.
