Job Summary:

Evaluates and executes treatment of patients primarily in the LTAC hospital and inpatient rehab hospital determined by business need; daily documentation and charging in the EMR; education of patients, families, and staff as appropriate; communication of patient progress in clinical conference; communication with other team members daily; preparing equipment orders; contacting vendors for equipment; communication with outside physicians and other professionals. Directs plan of care of patients with COTA; supervises COTA as it relates to the patients' plans of care, educates patients/families regarding lifestyle changes, self-management, and techniques for ADLs; educates staff regarding splints, positioning, and other areas related to plan of car
 

Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions:

  • Performs initial and discharge evaluations, sets goals and treatment plan and documents appropriately. Develops treatment plan and performs optimal treatment in a timely manner to meet functional goals. Determines therapy educational needs and provides prn. Participates as a member of the interdisciplinary team.

  • Serves as CI/mentor for interns as needed

  • Participates in hospital and discipline specific skills check

  • Other duties as assigned

Required Experience:

  • Minimum 1 year experience in acute care, LTACH, SNF, Rehab.

Required Minimum Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Therapy Required

  • Doctoral Degree in Occupational Therapy Preferred


Required Minimum License(s) and Certification(s):

  • NBCOT

  • Current American Heart Association, Basic Life Support.

  • GA OT license or eligible
