Job Summary

As a Level A or B Diesel Mechanic, you will play a critical role in keeping our fleet on the road. You’ll be responsible for safely diagnosing, repairing, rebuilding, and maintaining our company-owned heavy-duty trucks and rolling stock equipment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Advanced Diagnostics & Repair: Troubleshoot and repair operational issues across heavy-duty diesel, CNG, gas, and electrically operated trucks and equipment.

  • Work Order & Inventory Management: Plan and schedule repairs using the M5 planner system, procure required parts, and complete daily administrative reporting.

  • Fleet Support: Review equipment write-ups, coordinate shop repair schedules, and maintain high operational readiness.

  • Safety First: Maintain safe working conditions, adhere to all local, state/provincial, and federal regulations, and keep a clean work area.

  • Mentorship & Development: Assist in training and onboarding newer shop team members while expanding your own skills on the latest industry technologies.

  • Tool Ownership: Utilize personal hand/power tools to perform daily hydraulic, engine, and structural maintenance.

Job Requirements

  • Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent; Technical/Trade School diploma preferred.

  • Experience: Minimum of 1+ year(s) of hands-on experience as a diesel mechanic (Level B), with advanced diagnostic capabilities (Level A).

  • Technical Aptitude: Experience with computerized diagnostic software; strong computer literacy with the ability to navigate shop management software.

  • Tool Set: Possess and maintain your own set of tools relevant to heavy-duty vehicle and hydraulic repairs.

  • Compliance: Ability to meet all company criteria for safety-sensitive functions and pass standard pre-employment screenings.

Physical Demands & Working Conditions

  • Physical Capability: Ability to frequently lift, push, or pull up to 100 lbs. Must be comfortable standing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling to access vehicle components.

  • Environment: Work involves exposure to active shop environments, including loud noises, variable weather conditions, moving mechanical parts, and standard shop chemicals. Continuous mental concentration and visual acuity are required to execute safe repairs.
