Job role and purpose:

The Global Vendor Manager oversees the selection, negotiation, performance, and long‑term management of suppliers across multiple regions. This role ensures vendors deliver high‑quality products or services, meet contractual obligations, and support the company’s global business strategy. It requires strong commercial acumen, cross‑cultural communication, and the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.

Main responsibilities & tasks:

Sourcing & Contract Negotiation:

  • Lead global RFP/RFI processes and evaluate vendor proposals.

  • Negotiate commercial terms, pricing, SLAs, KPIs, and long‑term agreements.

  • Ensure contracts comply with legal, regulatory, and internal procurement policies.

Performance Management:

  • Monitor vendor performance using KPIs, scorecards, and service reviews.

  • Identify underperformance and drive corrective action plans.

  • Benchmark vendor performance against industry standards.

Relationship Management:

  • Build strong, collaborative relationships with key suppliers and internal stakeholders.

  • Serve as the escalation point for operational or contractual issues.

  • Facilitate quarterly business reviews and strategic planning sessions.

Financial & Risk Management:

  • Manage global vendor budgets, cost optimisation initiatives, and forecasting.

  • Identify cost‑saving opportunities without compromising quality.

  • Assess and mitigate vendor‑related risks (operational, financial, geopolitical, compliance).

Cross‑Functional Collaboration:

  • Partner with Legal, Finance, IT, Operations, and regional teams to ensure alignment.

  • Support global transformation projects, system implementations, and process improvements.

  • Provide vendor insights to support strategic decision‑making.

Vendor Strategy & Governance:

  • Develop and execute a global vendor management strategy aligned with business goals.

  • Establish governance frameworks, performance standards, and compliance requirements.

  • Conduct regular vendor reviews, audits, and risk assessments.

Qualifications and experience:

  • 5+ years of experience in program management

  • Experience in IT asset disposition, IT hardware trading, or related technology services industries preferred.

  • Proven track record in designing and managing multi-regional service delivery programs.

Core Competencies:

  • Strong negotiation and contract management skills.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management abilities.

  • Analytical mindset with experience using vendor scorecards and performance metrics.

  • Ability to work across cultures, time zones, and business units.

  • Strong problem‑solving and conflict‑resolution skills.

Technical Competencies:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).

  • Experience with ERP, CRM, and service management systems.

  • Knowledge of ITAD, depot services, and service delivery frameworks.

Behavioral Competencies

  • High attention to detail and commitment to operational excellence.

  • Ability to work under pressure and manage complex, high-volume service operations.

  • Proactive problem-solving and continuous improvement mindset.
