Waltonen Engineering is actively seeking a Product Designer to join our team!

Responsibilities

  • Utilize Creo to prepare design layouts on complex units and mechanisms for various defense vehicles
  • Make design computations as required
  • Prepare general specifications, such as bills of materials
  • Collaborate with engineers, detailers, and other designers to develop innovative solutions
  • Develop creative drawings from design objectives established by others
  • Use manual or computer skills to complete design drawings
  • Ensure all customer specifications and expectations are met
  • Work overtime as needed to meet customer requirements
  • Onsite Creo training will be provided to candidates without previous experience

Qualifications

  • 2+ years experience in Product Design
  • Proficiency using a sketch-based CAD software
  • Experience in modeling from assembly drawings/packages
  • Sheet Metal and/or structural design experience
  • Solid Modeling and assembly design experience
  • Analytical ability to recognize and solve design and mechanical problems
  • Oral and written communication skills
  • Must be a team player with strong collaborative skills
  • Willingness to work overtime as needed, with the ability to adapt to fluctuating workloads
  • Availability to work between 40 to 60 hours per week based on project demands
  • Must be willing to work remotely on weekends on an as-needed basis to meet customer demands
  • Only United States citizens can be considered
  • Must possess or be able to obtain a security clearance

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate Degree in Vehicle Design, Product Development, or related degree
  • Experience with Creo 3D CAD software is highly preferred
  • Experience in the military/defense industry
  • Familiarity with Teamcenter or Vismockup is a plus
  • Powertrain, chassis, or body design
  • Electrical Design – Routing & Packaging
