Job Description Summary:
Senior Manager, IT Security designs, implements, and maintains the security controls that protect an organization’s systems, data, and networks in support of PTC Therapeutics business objectives by helping to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of our network.The ideal candidate should possess technical skills in security technologies, networking, and troubleshooting and be comfortable delivering technical solutions in a fast-paced environment. The candidate needs to be passionate about their career in Cybersecurity and demonstrate the ability to pick up new expertise and technologies.
The daily duties include project work, hands-on troubleshooting of security technologies, vulnerability management, network hardening, tracking, and resolving complex issues across the enterprise, interfacing with cross-functional teams, and other duties as requested.
This individual will work closely with several key individuals and teams and be part of a dedicated team of security professionals who demonstrate superb technical competency, making PTC Therapeutics as secure as possible.
The Senior Manager, IT Security supports adherence to relevant regulatory requirements and company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) as appropriate.

Job Description:
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Primary duties/responsibilities:
Administrate, maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot security technologies (e.g., firewalls, application-based firewalls, intrusion detection systems, Zero Trust, and associated software)
Scan, prioritize, and support remediation of vulnerabilities across systems. Assist in designing secure systems, cloud environments, and zero-trust frameworks.
Develop scripts/playbooks to automate security workflows
Work collaboratively with other groups and divisions inside of PTC Therapeutics
Respond to outages and resolve and document incident tickets
Remain current on emerging security risks, trends, and technologies and share with the team
Identify recurring security issues and opportunities for improvement, recommending proactive measures and best practices to address gaps
Plan, implement and upgrade security technologies and controls
All other duties as assigned
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES REQUIRED
* Minimum level of education and years of relevant work experience.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT or Cybersecurity and a minimum of 6 years of combined IT and Cybersecurity related work experience, preferably in a pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or other regulated environment
* Special knowledge or skills needed and/or licenses or certificates required.
Hands-on/demonstrated experience with segmentation technologies such as Next-Generation Firewalls, Access Control lists, Host-based Firewalls, Web filtering, and Zero Trust technologies
Relevant enterprise-level experience within an information security group coupled with a working knowledge of the technical protocols that make up a modern enterprise [i.e., TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/S, TLS, SMB, SSH, etc.]
Experience with security solutions such as CrowdStrike, Palo Alto, Zscaler, Cortex, Okta
Knowledge of security standards and log analysis
Ability to work comfortably and successfully in a fast-paced environment with frequent changes in priorities and ability to positively influence others or manage indirectly
Experience with any scripting languages
Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
Excellent troubleshooting, problem-solving, and resolution skills
Innovative, creative, curious, risk-minded, and passionate about Information Security and Technology.
Fluent in English
* Special knowledge or skills needed and/or licenses or certificates preferred.
The ability to develop procedures and technical documentation for security-related services/solutions (Firewalls, Zero Trust, Antivirus, etc.)
Experience securing cloud environments
Knowledge of Cybersecurity best practices and the ability to review existing processes and documentation
Experience with Enterprise level Virtualization Technologies
Relevant industry certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CCNA, CCNA Security, CCNP, ITILv4, Security+, and GIAC, are desired
* Travel requirements
Up to 10% travel
Office-based position
Expected Base Salary Range
$150,500 – 170,000.The base salary offered will be contingent on assessment of candidate education level, background, and experience relative to the requirements of the position they are being considered for, as well as review of internal equity.
In addition to base salary, PTC employees are also eligible for short- and long-term incentives. All eligible employees may also enroll in PTC’s medical, dental, vision, and retirement savings plans.
