POSITION SUMMARY:

We are looking for a Yoga Therapist to hold sessions with patients 2 days a week (Approximately 5 hours per week) 

In each class, depending on the abilities of the overall patient population on any given day, the Yoga Instructor helps the group explore the mind-body relationship through body-centered practices, such as asana (poses), and mind-centered practices, such as meditation and guided imagery, to improve our patient’s overall well-being. Through asana, breath work, meditation practices, and other yoga therapy skills—whose healing properties are supported by both traditional yoga philosophy and modern scientific evidence—the instructor helps patients create healing yoga practices they can use to manage stress, anxiety, depression, addictive negative patterns, and other challenges in their daily lives after discharge.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School degree required
  • Experience in a psychiatric setting preferred
  • Must have certification from Yoga Alliance (approved 200-hour teacher training)

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Evaluate each patient’s progress and the effectiveness of therapy treatment
  • Record results on daily progress notes and follow all documentation policies
