Dental Assistant 1 (Full-Time)

Proposed Schedule: 40 hours per week. Four 10 hour shifts varying Monday-Friday.

Assists Dentist in treatment of patients. Cleans treatment rooms, ensuring all instruments are sterile. Acts as a liaison between patients, providers, and staff members by providing prompt and professional service per the patient’s needs. Performs routine duties associated with revenues, schedules, referrals and protects patient confidentiality. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

• Clean all rooms thoroughly and ensure that all instruments, handpieces, and burs are always sterile
• Sets up operations in all rooms according to proper procedure before the patient sees the provider. Including, stocking items, cleaning instruments, spraying surfaces, and replacing plastic coverings.
• Performs maintenance according to proper protocol on ultrasonic, autoclave, x-ray developer.
• Attends to appointment changes and rescheduling patients accordingly
• Maintains and updates MSDS book as necessary
• Utilizes the autoclave to sterilize instruments according to protocol including necessary spore testing procedure
• Understands and properly cares for ultrasonic device and performs appropriate quality control
• Assist the Dentist and Hygienist in ensuring that the educational needs of the patient are met
• Understands and performs appropriate QC for X-Ray developer

• High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED); dental assistant certification and/or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Current BLS Certification

The pay rate for this position is $19.77/hour.
