JOB PURPOSE

The Vocational Operations Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily operations at the RISE Vocational Center and affiliated off-site locations. This position ensures efficient production workflows, staff productivity, and a safe, inclusive work environment for individuals with disabilities. The Supervisor plays a vital role in quality assurance, resource management, and the implementation of best practices in production and vocational programming.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 Production Oversight & Workflow Management

  • Supervise daily production activities and ensure all tasks align with established schedules and goals.
  • Monitor resource allocation and workflow to maximize efficiency and minimize downtime.
  • Adjust operations in response to changing production needs or service requirements.

Team Leadership & Staff Support

  • Supervise, train, and support production staff in daily responsibilities.
  • Provide clear direction and coaching to foster a collaborative and inclusive work culture.
  • Conduct regular performance check-ins, assist with conflict resolution, and support team morale.

Quality Control & Safety

  • Ensure all production processes meet established quality standards.
  • Enforce health, safety, and environmental regulations in alignment with DMH and OSHA requirements.
  • Proactively identify potential risks and take corrective action to maintain a safe and supportive workplace.

Program Coordination & Participant Support

  • Foster a positive and engaging work environment for individuals with disabilities.
  • Collaborate with support teams to ensure vocational goals are addressed during daily operations.
  • Serve as a role model and coach to reinforce appropriate work behavior, skill development, and independence.

Data & Reporting

  • Track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate production goals.
  • Maintain documentation related to attendance, incidents, output, and performance benchmarks.
  • Prepare routine reports and share feedback with the Vocational Center Manager and leadership team.

Cross-Department Collaboration

  • Work with supply chain, maintenance, and quality assurance teams to streamline operations.
  • Assist with inventory tracking, equipment needs, and general warehouse upkeep.
  • Participate in meetings, special events, and training sessions.

Continuous Improvement

  • Support and participate in continuous improvement efforts, including Lean initiatives.
  • Identify opportunities for enhanced efficiency, safety, or participant engagement.
  • Assist with cost-saving initiatives and resource optimization, as requested.

All other duties assigned.



QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a supervisory, production, or vocational services role.
  • Experience working with individuals with disabilities strongly preferred.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain a Missouri Class E chauffeur’s license within 14 days of hire.
  • Forklift certification preferred (training available upon hire).
  • Must pass a pre-employment background check and complete required training.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to motivate and mentor diverse teams, including individuals with varying support needs.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing, safety standards, and vocational service principles preferred.
  • Proficiency in production tracking tools or systems preferred.
  • Adaptability, organization, and a strong sense of accountability.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand, walk, bend, or move for extended periods.
  • Work is performed in a warehouse or production environment, with exposure to noise, machinery, and dust.
  • Flexible availability, including occasional evenings or weekends, based on production needs.
