Strides Therapy & Educational Services is a therapist-owned, clinician-led company committed to helping students succeed while providing exceptional support to our clinicians. We are seeking a dedicated Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our school-based therapy team.

Location: Warrenton, VA
Additional Details: In-Person Role
Requirements: Current Virginia Physical Therapist Assistant license issued by the Virginia Board of Physical Therapy.
Expected Hours per week: 7.5 hours a day; 37.5 per week

Responsibilities:

Under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist, the PTA will:

Provide direct physical therapy services to students as outlined in Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).

Implement treatment plans developed by the supervising Physical Therapist.

Assist students in improving functional mobility, balance, strength, coordination, endurance, posture, and gross motor skills necessary for participation in the school environment.

Support students with transfers, gait training, stair negotiation, and safe mobility throughout the school setting.

Assist with positioning, adaptive equipment, orthotics, mobility devices, and wheelchair management as directed by the supervising PT.

Monitor student performance and collect objective data on progress toward IEP goals.

Maintain accurate, timely documentation of therapy sessions and student progress.

Collaborate with teachers, families, school staff, and other related service providers to support student success.

Assist with implementing accommodations and mobility strategies within classrooms and throughout the school environment.

Prepare therapy materials and maintain therapy equipment.

Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team meetings as requested by the supervising PT.

Maintain compliance with district policies, IDEA regulations, HIPAA/FERPA requirements, and professional standards.

Travel between school sites as assigned, if applicable.

Qualifications:

Associate's degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.

Current state PTA license (or eligibility for licensure).

Graduation from a CAPTE-accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.

Previous pediatric or school-based experience preferred but not required.

Strong communication, organizational, and collaboration skills.

Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary educational team.
