What You’ll Do:
Providing routine care and treatment of patients, under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, within a state correctional facility
Responsible for providing direct nursing care to patients, within the scope of practice
Screening, observing and assessing patients
Providing basic wound care and personal care to patients
Delivering routine respiratory therapy and other treatments, catheter and colostomy care, collecting vital signs and specimens, preparing and administering medications, administering/interpreting TB skin tests
Observing and recording pertinent patient information
Responding to emergencies
Assisting the Registered Nurse and Physician

Position Details:
Temporary Role: 11-month position with a 31-day break; renewable upon successful completion of the contract.
Location: Statewide – Work location and shift assignment to be agreed upon during the hiring process.
Requirements: Applicants must pass a background check to be eligible for this position
Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences
Demonstrated knowledge of professional nursing and skills attendant to its practice.

Licensed to practice as a Practical Nurse in the state of North Carolina.
Note: Must be licensed to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse in North Carolina or in participating Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) state. If possessing a single state LPN license from a state other than North Carolina, MUST apply and receive at a minimum a "Temporary License" to practice in NC prior to hire date.Â
