What You’ll Do:
Administer medications and treatments accurately and efficiently, including:
Transcribing orders, ordering, storing, and tracking medications and supplies.
Documenting medication administration and treatments.
Monitoring medication effectiveness, observing side effects, and reporting findings.
Reinforce patient education provided by nurses and physicians.
Support additional nursing functions as allowed under your licensure and training.
Participate in a Medication Technician course and competency evaluation provided by the Department of Adult Correction to ensure your success.

Position Details:
Temporary Role: 11-month position with a 31-day break; renewable upon successful completion of the contract.
Location: Statewide – Work location and shift assignment to be agreed upon during the hiring process.
Requirements: Applicants must pass a background check to be eligible for this position.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences
Demonstrated knowledge of nursing care skills appropriate to its practice
Minimum Education and Experience

High School or General Educational Development diploma and one (1) year of related work experience OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Special Condition for Continued Employment Â
Completion and certification of a two-year medical assisting program as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or as a Registered Medical Assistant (RMA)
