Position Summary

The General Labor is responsible for supporting daily warehouse and logistics operations through loading, unloading, moving, organizing, and storing pistachio products and materials. This position assists in maintaining a safe, clean, organized, and efficient work environment while complying with company policies, food safety standards, and workplace safety requirements.

Essential Functions

  • Assist in loading and unloading pistachio products and materials from trucks, containers, and storage areas.
  • Move and transport products throughout the warehouse using manual or powered equipment, including pallet jacks and dollies.
  • Sort, organize, and store inventory in designated locations following company procedures.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of warehouse and work areas.
  • Perform routine cleaning duties, including sweeping floors, removing debris, and sanitizing workspaces.
  • Assist with preparing shipments by labeling and packaging products according to company standards.
  • Collaborate with warehouse and logistics personnel to ensure timely movement and shipment of products.
  • Conduct inventory counts and assist in maintaining accurate inventory records.
  • Follow GMPs, food safety requirements, safety procedures, and company policies.
  • Utilize personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
  • Report damaged products, unsafe conditions, or equipment malfunctions to supervisors.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members.
  • Maintain regular and reliable attendance.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Previous warehouse, logistics, manufacturing, or general labor experience preferred.
  • Forklift certification preferred but not required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Basic math and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing and warehouse environment.
  • Ability to safely lift and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Basic understanding of warehouse operations, safety procedures, and cleaning protocols.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety.

Work Environment

  • Food manufacturing and warehouse environment.
  • Exposure to dust, noise, varying temperatures, and moving machinery.
  • Indoor and outdoor work may be required.
  • Exposure to pistachios and other tree nut allergens.
  • Use of cleaning chemicals and sanitation products may be required.
  • Safety equipment such as gloves, safety glasses, hard hats, and PPE may be required.
