Position Summary
The Maintenance Mechanic II is responsible for assisting the Maintenance Lead and Maintenance Manager in all aspects of facility and equipment maintenance. This position supports building projects, fabrication, equipment repairs, inspections, and preventative maintenance activities while ensuring compliance with company safety policies, GMPs, HACCP requirements, food defense programs, allergen controls, hygienic zoning requirements, and food safety regulations.
Essential Functions
- Assist fabricators in building and repairing machinery components to ensure equipment operates safely and meets food safety standards.
- Work with the Maintenance Lead on inspections, repairs, and preventative maintenance assignments.
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and electrical equipment.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical and mechanical problems.
- Repair and service internal combustion engines.
- Service forklifts and other equipment used in plant operations.
- Follow all company safety, GMP, HACCP, food safety, and food defense requirements.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Monitor equipment, parts, and supply inventories and communicate inventory needs.
- Assist with ordering and expediting maintenance supplies and replacement parts.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, leads, managers, and team members.
- Maintain regular and reliable attendance.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors or management.
Qualifications
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous maintenance, fabrication, mechanical, or industrial maintenance experience preferred.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.

- Ability to perform complex mathematical calculations.
- Ability to generate reports and maintain documentation.
- Ability to follow detailed and complex procedures.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and work flexible schedules.
- Ability to climb ladders and work in elevated locations.
- Knowledge of industrial maintenance practices and equipment repair.
- Ability to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical systems.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Work Environment
- Food manufacturing and processing environment.
- Exposure to dust, noise, varying temperatures, machinery, and moving equipment.
- Exposure to chemicals, fumes, toxins, and industrial hazards.
- Exposure to pistachios and other tree nut allergens.
- Indoor and outdoor work may be required.
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required.
- Work may involve elevated areas and confined spaces.
