Position Summary

The Roaster Packer is responsible for packaging roasted pistachio products and ensuring products are efficiently packed to meet production standards. This role includes monitoring roasting operations as needed, operating packaging equipment, maintaining product quality, and ensuring proper labeling and storage of packaged products while complying with food safety, quality, and company standards.

Essential Functions

• Pack roasted pistachios, ensuring products are properly cooled and ready for packaging.
 • Ensure roasted pistachio products are packaged in a timely manner to maintain freshness and quality.
 • Monitor roasting processes as needed to support product quality standards.
 • Operate and monitor packaging equipment to ensure efficient and accurate product packaging.
 • Inspect pistachios and packaging materials to ensure compliance with quality and food safety standards.
 • Perform quality checks on packaging, including labels, seals, weights, and packaging integrity.
 • Report quality concerns, product defects, or equipment malfunctions to supervisors.
 • Track production quantities and maintain accurate production records.
 • Assist with inventory counts and report shortages, damages, or discrepancies.
 • Follow all safety procedures, GMPs, food safety regulations, and company policies.
 • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of packaging equipment, roasting areas, conveyor systems, and workstations.
 • Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members.
 • Maintain regular and reliable attendance.
 • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
 • Previous experience in food manufacturing, roasting, production, or packaging environments preferred.
 • Experience operating packaging or food processing equipment preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
 • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
 • Basic math and communication skills.
 • Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
 • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
 • Ability to safely operate packaging and roasting equipment.
 • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation requirements preferred.

Work Environment

• Food manufacturing environment.
 • Exposure to dust, noise, varying temperatures, and moving machinery.
 • Exposure to warm or hot roasting equipment and processing areas.
 • Indoor production environment.
 • May work around chemicals used for cleaning and sanitation.
 • May work around allergens including pistachios and other tree nuts.
 • Requires compliance with GMP, food safety, and sanitation standards.
