Position Summary
The Security Guard is responsible for maintaining the safety and security of Primex Farms employees, visitors, contractors, property, equipment, and facilities. This position provides access control, patrol services, visitor management, emergency response, incident reporting, and enforcement of company security policies. The Security Guard supports facility security operations by monitoring daily activities, conducting security inspections, maintaining documentation, and ensuring compliance with company safety, food defense, food security, and visitor control programs.
Essential Functions
• Provide general facility security and maintain a visible security presence throughout the property.
• Greet visitors, vendors, contractors, and guests in a professional manner.
• Authorize and monitor entry and exit of personnel, vehicles, and visitors.
• Maintain assigned security posts, checkpoints, and access control locations.
• Verify visitor credentials and enforce visitor access procedures.
• Patrol production areas, warehouses, parking lots, offices, and facility grounds.
• Conduct random security inspections throughout the facility.
• Monitor and protect company property, equipment, vehicles, and assets.
• Prevent theft, vandalism, unauthorized access, and property damage.
• Enforce Primex Farms Visitor Policy, Food Security Program, and parking procedures.
• Respond appropriately to emergency situations, alarms, accidents, incidents, and security concerns.
• Document incidents and maintain accurate Shift Activity Reports (SAR).
• Report suspicious activity, irregularities, safety concerns, and security violations to management.
• Assist with food defense and food security exercises and challenges.
• Provide directions and customer service assistance to employees, visitors, and contractors.
• Communicate effectively with Security Supervisors, Human Resources, management, employees, law enforcement, and emergency responders.
• Maintain regular and reliable attendance.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education and Experience
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid BSIS Guard Card required.
• Minimum of one (1) year of security experience preferred.
• Clean driving record required.
• CPR/BLS certification preferred.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
• Baton, OC Spray, and Handcuff certification preferred.
• Firearms training preferred but not required.

• Knowledge of security officer duties and responsibilities.

• Ability to interact professionally with employees, visitors, contractors, and the public.

Work Environment
• Primarily works outdoors throughout the facility and plant yard.
• Exposure to dust, noise, varying weather conditions, heat, cold, and industrial environments.
• Frequent exposure to truck traffic, trailers, forklifts, production equipment, and warehouse operations.
• May be required to work weekends, holidays, overtime, and varying shifts.
• Must comply with all safety, food defense, food security, visitor management, PPE, and company security requirements.
