Accounts Receivable Specialist (Part-Time)

Founded in 1988, Food & Friends provides medically-tailored meals, nutrition support, and friendship to people living with AIDS, cancer, and other life-challenging illnesses. Our team of seventy-five employees and thousands of volunteers delivers meals and hope to people living in the District of Columbia and multiple counties across Maryland and Virginia. There is no charge or income qualification for our services, which are rendered solely on the basis of medical need. Utilizing our Sage Intacct accounting software, the A/R Specialist will collect and process revenue information from a variety of programs. Reporting to the Controller, the A/R Specialist will:

• Review claims reports for accuracy and enter invoices into accounting system; 
• Review daily bank deposits;
• Import revenue files into the accounting system, attaching support documents as needed;
• Enter incoming deposits into accounting system; 
• Regularly update A/R and stock donation worksheets and FSA tracker for monthly financials; 
• Reconcile YTD revenue totals; and
• Assist Controller with audit tasks. 

This is a part-time position offering twenty hours of work per week and a flexible schedule. Must be willing to work on-site. 

The successful candidate will have a BA/BS in a relevant field or least two years of directly relevant experience. Additional requirements include a solid understanding of A/R principles and procedures; ability to learn and use accounting software (Sage Intacct experience a plus); ability to input large amounts of data with a high degree of accuracy; and ability to multi-task in a deadline driven environment. Offer of employment contingent upon a pre-employment background check and drug test. 

The Accounts Receivable Specialist position pays an hourly rate in the range of $39.00 to $41.00. Due to the part-time nature of the position, benefits not included. Food & Friends is Metro accessible.
