The SEC Regulations Leader is primarily responsible for advising and providing technical expertise to engagement teams and members of the National Professional Standards Group (NPSG) on complex SEC reporting and compliance matters and for the development and maintenance of related reporting manuals, tools, templates, training and thought leadership for the Assurance line of business.

Consults with engagement teams, members of the Professional Practice Office (PPO), and Technical Industry Leaders, asĀ requestedĀ (or required by firm policy), on complex SEC reporting and compliance matters,Ā exemptĀ offeringsĀ and certain accounting matters.Ā Ā
AssistsĀ with the development and maintenance of the firmās interpretive accounting guidance and educational training courses, which may requireĀ collaboratingĀ with other members of the NPSG, audit,Ā taxĀ and consulting practices, to enable others to address existing and new accounting standards, emerging practiceĀ issuesĀ and firm initiatives.Ā
MonitorsĀ and reportsĀ on the standard-setting activities of the Financial Accounting Standards Board and International Accounting Standards Board within theĀ individualāsĀ areas of expertise including drafting of the firmās comment letters in response to proposed accounting standards updates.Ā
Collaborates among the NPSG, Office of Risk Management (ORM), and the National SEC Practice Leader to continuously improve National Office service to engagement teams and clients.Ā Ā
LeadershipĀ
LeadsĀ development ofĀ thought leadershipĀ on matters related to SECĀ reporting and compliance matters, including the firmās responses to SEC proposals.Ā
Develops andĀ maintainsĀ relationships with counterparts at otherĀ public accounting firms to engageĀ onĀ complexĀ and emergingĀ financial and SEC reportingĀ matters.Ā
Leads educational training courses on subject matters within the individualās areas of expertise, including drafting the firmās responses to proposedĀ accounting standards updates,Ā andĀ participatesĀ in the firmās quarterly accounting update webinars, as needed.Ā
Serves as the firmās representative on the Center for Audit Qualityās SEC Regulations CommitteeĀ andĀ possibly otherĀ relatedĀ task forcesĀ (e.g.,Ā the AICPAās International Practices Task Force,Ā Smaller Firm Task Force).Ā
Serves as the firmās primary relationship manager with the SECās Division of Corporate Finance Chief Accountant.

Serves as a resource to the Office of General Counsel and Audit Incident Response as a firm expert on matters concerning SEC reporting and compliance matters.Ā

Requirements
MinimumĀ bachelorās degreeĀ in accountingĀ requiredĀ
Minimum 15Ā yearsā experienceĀ in a National CPA FirmĀ or with the SEC

Extensive knowledge ofĀ SECĀ RegulationsĀ S-X and S-K,Ā includingĀ securities registrations, exempt offerings, initial public offerings, confidentialĀ submissions,Ā cyber requirements and disclosures, executive compensation disclosures and claw back requirements, comfort letter matters, Article 11 pro forma rules,Ā andĀ Financial Reporting Manual updatesĀ
Broad working knowledge of U.S. GAAPĀ andĀ US GAAS and PCAOBĀ auditing standardsĀ
Experienced in developing and editing SECĀ reporting andĀ accounting publications and educational training coursesĀ
